Truc Lam Quan Tue Zen Sect
Emperor Tran Nhan Tong is both a king and a monk. He renounced his throne to become a monk, practicing asceticism and becoming the Patriarch of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect. The Truc Lam Yen Tu in Dai Viet embodies the spirit of renunciation with the motto "The Buddha's teachings transcend the worldly realm." Upon attaining enlightenment, he traveled extensively to propagate the Dharma, teaching people to observe the Five Precepts and practice the Ten Virtuous Deeds. The Buddha's teachings deeply influenced daily life, bringing prosperity to the nation and happiness to its people.
More than 700 years after the Nirvana of King Tran Nhan Tong, the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen lineage has been revitalized and experienced robust development under the guidance of the Venerable Thich Thanh Ha Tu. The Zen tradition has spread far and wide, not only within the country but has also disseminated the spirit of Zen practice to many countries around the world.
